#SayNoToXenophobia

 The feelings of dislike foreigners in South Africa started in 2008 when some groups of South Africans attacked some foreigners and torched their properties.Since that time it had been reported many attacks to foreigners regardless whether they live in South Africa legally or illegally.Local and International organisations asked South African government to urgently intervene and stop those attacks to foreigners.

The image of South Africa has internationally damaged.The South Africans suffered from economic issues because there were many activities which were not operating as usually and people especially foreigners were living in fear,there were no trust between South Africans and foreigners and there were also uncertainty from foreigners about their future in South Africa.

After all those different events,with the intervention of government,Non-governmental organisations they came up with a productive hashtag known as #SayNoToXenophobia.These words “Say no to xenophobia” marked the beginning of new thoughts to many people.#SayNoToXenophobia helped to transmit the message about living in harmony and respecting everyone’s rights either a South African or a foreigner.#SayNoToXenophobia became a helpful trending words,they help people to realise that what bring people together should be more important than what separate them.We should live always in harmony instead of valuing what differ people like countries,sex,race etc.

In the corporate social media,the use of hashtags helps to spread a cause to many people and let them be aware to the cause because hashtags add more visibility to the cause and becomes a trending cause which play a role to achieve objectives of Public Relations Practitioner through the strategic us of Social media.
 
Advantages

We are all human beings
 There are many advantages of talking about #SayNoToXenophobia on social media.Social media is a source of two ways communication,it helps to engage with people from different corners and share the ideas in order to strengthen the corporate relationships among the Social media users.Talking about “Say no to xenophobia”helps people who were not in South Africa to get bit of knowledge on what were happening in South Africa during #Xenophobic attacks,helps to let people practice the human rights through their words and actions.Discussions about #SayNoToXenophobia on Social media helps people to know where it came from and will promote the harmony in our aily life.

 Disadvantages  
Once a Public Relations Practitioner ignore the strategic use of Social media or goes beyond his or her objectives,the discussions about #SayNoToXenophobia can be a disaster or source of conflicts.Xenophobia is a sensitive topic which requires a Public Relations Practitioner to be more careful on the conversation,this topic can cause the hatred between both sides,it can provoke the health problem like traumatism and it can destroy the reputation of a Public Relations Practitioner who brought it on Social media.

 Recommendation
-We should think twice before writing,acting or reacting anyhow in order to prevent misconduct or conflicts between human beings. 
-The role of a Public Relations Practitioner is to build relationship not to destroy it and establish a #PositiveImage not negative image,for those reasons,let's share our ideas at the interest of public.

A joyful country with happy people found in South Africa didn’t come just like that manna we heard in bible but South Africans know how to produce such happiness,the source is from Sport and Recreations.The togetherness from sports fields and stadium,mind refreshment and body fitness from recreation centers play a huge role in the happiness and harmony found in #Southafrica.

“Nothing brings people together like Football does!”This is a quote from a former FIFA President Sepp Blatter in 2010 when #Southafrica was hosting World Football Cup in2010.South Africa does have many Competitive sports,some of them are:
-Football:The South African women national team is called “Banyana Banyana” while the men team is called “Bafana Bafana”.The most entertaining football teams are #KaizerChiefs #OrlandoPirates and #MamelodiSundowns.Most of us,we remember players like Mark Fish(1998),Tchabalala(2010) and many other players whom we won’t forget for their efforts to make us happy in Fooball

-Rugby:#Rugby is another popular sport in South Africa.#SouthAfricanRugbyNationalTeam is called Springboks.The popular teams are The Lions and The Crusaders.
-Crickets:South African National #Cricket team is the most busiest national team thanks to its competitions schedule.
-Cycling:Teams like Dimension data has local,national and international cyclists and in 2017 broke a record of becoming a first cycling team from Africa to participate in the First world cycling tournament called Tour de France.

-Volleyball:#Volleyball in South Africa is growing slow by slow and there is a hope that it will catch up the other sports like Football,Rugby and Rugby.This hope is from different competition organised by South African Volleyball Federation especially in High schools and Universities.

-Athletism:South African athletes are worldly known thanks to the different world records they broke.Athletes like Semenya and Oscar Pistorius won’t be forgotten.

As a Public Relations Practitioner,the importance of discussing #SportandRecreation in South Africa on Social media is to let people know how Sport and Recreation can bring the happiness and and enable people live in harmony.The discussions like these also let people use two ways communication by interacting  through comments.

The disadvantages can occur when a Public Relations Practitioner ignore the strategic use of Social media.When he or she doesn’t intervene in the comments can be the source or wrong information and rumors.This topic can also push foreigners to overstay in South Africa illegally sometimes because they think that they can use different opportunities found in Sports environment in South Africa regardless the process of legal documents.
